Burton Group

www.burtongroup.com

Booth Location: T1

Burton Group provides integrated consulting, advisory, and research services to support technologists who are responsible for decisions and plans related to network technologies, services, products, and vendors. Burton helps enterprise organizations to plan, build, and manage general-purpose:

Applications Infrastructure for enabling and integrating network applications across intranets, extranets and exchanges.

Network Transport Infrastructure for converging voice, video, and data networks, thereby creating a next-generation network.

There are, today, thousands of information sources about network technologies. The problem is that most of those sources examine only one or two technologies, failing to acknowledge the relationship between those technologies or the impact of implementing them on the entire network. As the world continues its transition from an industrial economy to a digital economy, both applications infrastructure and network infrastructure must be considered.

The network is no longer just a tool for doing business; it's the medium through which you conduct business.

The rapid adoption of identity services in the absence of formalized inter-company business processes, procedures and standards has resulted in a patchwork of isolated solutions and a growing and inefficient replication of unmanageable legal agreements. An organized effort is required to represent the best interests of the business community and the end-user at-large by establishing not just technical standards, but also addressing the business process standards which are required to ensure security, reliability and interoperability.

PingID's comprehensive suite of business services provide the foundation for all business-to-business identity interactions. By joining the PingID Network, members instantly benefit from access to standardized business operating rules and regulations, privacy policies, dispute resolution procedures and identity interchange services, all requirements when engaging partners and customers across federated identity networks.

Symlabs

www.symlabs.com

Booth Location: B9

Symlabs is an innovative software company specializing in lightweight directory access protocol (LDAP) directory solutions and directory productivity tools. Since its inception in 2001, Symlabs has played an important role in large directory-deployment projects of numerous worldwide blue chip companies.

The Company is known for its unique software solution, the DirectoryScript Platform, a software platform comprised of the DS Proxy and DirectoryScript, a scripting language.

The DirectoryScript Platform was designed to overcome all LDAP directory limitations allowing organizations to realize the full potential of the open standard directory promise. The Platform enables the developer or the systems administrator to create and store procedures and triggers in an advanced scripting language. These procedures are executed, within the DS Proxy environment, in a similar way as relational database triggers. With the help of the DirectoryScript Platform, data can now be managed centrally, rather than within each application itself or at the directory end where the information is stored. The DirectoryScript Platform offers immediate ROI, because it reduces the time and resources needed for implementing directory infrastructure; information can be securely accessed across the company and its extranet. Symlabs is actively marketing the DirectoryScript Platform and solutions to carriers and enterprises worldwide.

Symlabs is present at the Digital ID World Conference 2002 to introduce its newest DirectoryScript solution, Symlabs ID Firewall, to carriers and enterprises with federated identity initiatives. The Symlabs ID Firewall enables the use of whitelists and blacklists, and allows organizations to maintain ownership of their customer databases, while sharing only the intended identity information. It also allows inspecting, filtering and altering queries and updates.

To ensure successful directory deployment, Symlabs complements its offering with professional and educational services, drawing on its broad directory experience.

Discover the Symlabs solutions at the Digital ID World Conference 2002, Booth B9 (located near the entrance of the conference hall), October 8 through 11, 2002.

XNSORG

www.xns.org

Booth Location: T6

eXtensible Name Service (XNS) is an open, XML-based protocol for digital identity and relationship management. Originally developed by OneName Corporation, it has been released under an open public license to the non-profit XNS Public Trust Organization (XNSORG) to govern on behalf of the Internet community.

XNS is a peer-to-peer protocol that provides the basis for an interoperable, platform- and vendor-neutral digital identity infrastructure. Based closely on the XML and Web services family of specifications from the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), XNS architecture represents every digital identity as an XML document. These identity documents are self-defining using XML Schemas so they can be extended to contain any type of identity attribute or attribute group. They also contain self-describing links that govern data exchange relationships with other identity documents. The result is an Identity Web that can do for digital identities what the World Wide Web has done for content.
